Walk In The Park Mare Gains Galway Festival Success
Talented hurdler Pink In The Park (7m Walk In The Park – Pink Hat, by Presenting) made a perfect start over fences in Thursday’s Beginners Chase at the Galway Festival.
Listed-placed in bumpers and Grade 1 placed over hurdles, the Willie Mullins-trained bay was one of just two mares to contest the geldings in the two mile and six furlong contest. Reunited with Paul Townend, she was produced to lead from the final fence and ran on well under pressure to score by a length and a quarter.
“It was a nice performance,” said the winning trainer. “She got two good jumps over the last two fences and I was very pleased with how she stayed on. Hopefully she can now get some black-type over fences now.”
Bred by Jackie Mullins, the daughter of Walk In The Park is the best performer to date out of the mare Pink Hat.
