Walk In The Park Mare Looks Smart On Hurdle Debut
Haute Estime (4f Walk In The Park - Terre Haute, by Oscar) made an impressive start to her hurdling career when drawing clear to win Sunday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Kelso.
The Lucinda Russell-trained mare had finished in the first four on all three of her starts in bumpers and was the sole mare to line up for the two mile contest at the weekend. Racing prominently throughout under Derek Fox, she asserted approaching the final flight and was pushed out to win by eight lengths.
Owned by Brahms and Liszt, Haute Estime was bred by Denis Duggan and hails from Walk In The Park’s first crop of four-year-olds since moving to Grange Stud.
