Well Related Getaway Gelding Makes Smart Debut

Thatsdwayimthinkin (4g Getaway – Sway, by Califet) made a perfect start to his career when justifying favouritism in Saturday’s four-year-old maiden at Oldtown point-to-point.

The Derek O’Connor-trained and ridden newcomer faced 11 rivals and raced towards the back of the field for much of the way. Improving from four out, he led from the second last and kept on well to score by three lengths. Fellow newcomer I Give Theorders (Order Of St George) finished a promising third.

Thatsdwayimthinkin is owned by JP McManus and was bred by Mrs Noreen McManus. The same connections won another four-year-old maiden earlier this month with exciting prospect That’s Nice (Walk In The Park).

Thatsdwayimthinkin is a half-brother to Listed winner Limerick Lace (Walk In The Park), Grade 1 chaser Inothewayurthinkin (Walk In The Park) and Grade 3 performer Ilikedwayurthinkin (Yeats).
