Love Envoi (Westerner) Wins The Winter Million Mares Novices Hurdle At Lingfield

Westerner Mare Adds Competitive Contest To Unbeaten Record

The exciting Love Envoi (6m Westerner - Love Divided, by King’s Ride) extended her unbeaten record to four when taking the Winter Million Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Lingfield on Friday.

The Harry Fry-trained mare dropped down in trip to two miles for the first time in the Class 2 contest and was ridden prominently throughout by Jonathan Burke. Challenged by the favourite at the second last, she was ridden approaching the final flight and kept on strongly to score by two and a half lengths.

A step up in class may now be on the cards for Love Envoi, with the winning rider noting a Grade 2 at Sandown as a possible target.

Love Envoi is now three from three over hurdles for the noel Fehily Racing Syndicate, who purchased the bay after winning a bumper on her sole start for Sean Doyle. The daughter of Westerner was bred by Ciaran O’Toole.
