Westerner Mare Bolts Up For A Second Time
A black-type bumper is next on the agenda for Ellen Kelly (5m Westerner – Silver Pearl, by Authorized) after the Willie Mullins-trained mare recorded impressive back-to-back wins.
Runner-up on debut and a 12 length winner on her second start last month, the Syndicates Racing-owned bay was reunited with Patrick Mullins in the mares’ bumper at Killarney on Friday. She set a brisk pace out in front and was travelling best of the field when turning for home. Ridden further clear approaching the final furlong, she was eased down close home to score by 21 lengths.
The exciting daughter of Westerner was bred by Jonathan Deacon.
