Westerner Mare Draws Clear On Debut

Bonttay (4f Westerner - Ben’s Turn, by Saddlers’ Hall) emerged as a talented performer when running out a clear winner of the mares’ bumper at Market Rasen on Sunday.

Strongly supported in the market, Fergal O’Brien’s charge raced in last for much of the way and was switched left to challenge two furlongs from home. Making good headway to lead a furlong from home, she quickened clear to win by four and a half lengths, with another three and a quarter lengths back to the third horse.

Owned by his trainer with CB Brookes, Bonttay was bred by P Connell and becomes the first time out of Ben’s Turn.
