Westerner Mare Justifies Support On Second Start

Midnight Skye (5m Westerner – Wipe Your Eye, by Milan) built on a promising debut to justify favouritism in the mares’ maiden at Farmacaffley on Saturday.

The Aidan Fitzgerald-trained mare finished third in a four-year-old mares' maiden in November and faced seven rivals on her second start. Tracking the leader under Troy Walsh, she led after two out and was ridden approaching the final fence. She kept on well to lead by seven lengths on the line.

The daughter of Westerner was bred by Ambrose Stafford out of a Milan sister to top chaser Any Second Now (Oscar).
