Westerner Mare Produces Perfect Debut Performance

The future looks bright for Copper Nation (4m Westerner - Copper Destiny, by Dubai Destination) after the Donal Coffey-trained bay raced four lengths clear on debut at Dromahane.

Racing in mid-division for much of the Four-Year-Old Mares Maiden, she led from four out under Darragh Allen and kept on well to win by four lengths from Pageant Material (Walk In The Park in second).

Owned by her trainer, Copper Nation is the first foal bred by Ms Paula Coffey-Mulcahy out of Copper Destiny, herself a half-sister to black-type hurdler Copper Gone West (Westerner).
