Yeats Mare A Class Apart On Debut

Lady Breffni (5m Yeats - Time To Shine, by Pivotal) thoroughly impressed on debut on Sunday, when drawing clear of her rivals in the Mares Maiden at Oldcastle.

Owned by Patrick Sheridan and trained by Dermot McLoughlin, the brown mare was ridden towards the back of the eight horse field by Noel McParlan. Improving into fourth with three fences left to jump, she led from the second last and drew clear under hands and heels to score by 14 lengths. Her stablemate and race favourite Trickey Trix (Mahler) claimed runner-up honours.

Bred by T.J. Adams, Lady Breffni is the first winner out of her dam, a winner under both codes.
