Yeats Mare A Wide Margin Winner Of Maiden Hurdle
The John Patrick Ryan owned and trained Le Hachette (6m Yeats - Tafseer, by Grand Lodge) ran out an impressive winner of Monday’s maiden hurdle at Ballinrobe.
Successful in a point-to-point in December, she was subsequently twice placed over hurdles. Monday saw her make all under Darragh O’Keeffe, gaining a five length advantage halfway through the two mile and five furlong contest. Jumping well, she was ridden to extend her lead approaching the final flight and she stayed on well to win by 23 lengths on the line.
Le Hachette was bred by Frank O’Malley out of Tafseer, an unraced half-sister to two black-type hurdlers, as well as two Listed-winning stayers on the flat.
