Yeats Mare Impresses With Front Running Performance

Forthegreatergood (7m Yeats - Feast Or Famine, by Presenting) could hardly have been more impressive when making all to win Thursday’s maiden hurdle at Worcester.

Placed on all of her previous starts this year, the Fergal O’Brien-trained mare was sent off favourite for the two and a half mile contest. Clear at the third last, she enjoyed a 15 length advantage at the final flight and was shaken up to win by all of 31 lengths under Paddy Brennan.

Forthegreatergood was purchased after winning her point-to-point for Sam Curling and now runs in the colours of Mrs June Watts. The daughter of Yeats was bred by Caroline Coonan out of a half-sister to Listed winner Blue Rise.
