Shattered Love

Yeats mare makes impressive winning debut

Shattered Love (4m Yeats-Tracker, by Bustino) went into many notebooks after making an impressive winning debut at the Limerick point-to-point on Sunday. The daughter of Yeats was sent off a well-backed favourite to score on her first start in the four-year-old mares’ maiden at Lemonfield and she never gave her supporters any worries. Derek O’Connor steered her to an easy two-length success in the colours of Gigginstown House Stud and she looks sure to make her mark under Rules. Shattered Love was the subject of a very favourable write up on P2P.ie following her easy win "Pat Doyle won this race last year with top class individual Whistle Dixie, this mare Shattered Love looked equally as impressive and has a bright future ahead of her. The manner in which she picked up was impressive and she appears to possess all the right attributes of a top class individual." Shattered Love, who is trained by Pat Doyle, was bred by Limetree Stud and realised €50,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale in June. She is a half-sister to Gordon Elliott’s smart performer Make A Track and out of a sibling to Champion Hurdle hero Make A Stand.
