$540,000 Colt for Mo Town In Dubai
Mo Town made a massive splash in Dubai on Wednesday when he not only had the fourth most expensive juvenile of the Dubai Breeze Up Sale but also the highest priced juvenile among any freshman at the sale with a $540,000 colt.
Seeing only horses by highly established sires ahead of him, the Mo Town colt was sold for 2 million AED (approximately $540,000) to Prince Fasil Khalid bin Abdul Aziz from the Powerstown Stud draft. A $110,000 Keeneland September purchase by his consignor from Columbiana Farm, the Bo Hirsch-bred is a half-brother to three winners from three to run.
Born on January 31 out of Tizza Trick, he is a grandson of the multiple stakes winner Bright Magic, who herself produced Grade III winner Exfactor and stakes winner Market Magic in addition to stakes-placed Trump’s Magic.
The family gets better and better with the page also including champion Good Magic, Grade III winner and Grade I-placed Take The Ribbon, and others.
A Grade 1 winner on turf and Grade II winner on dirt, Mo Town’s first crop has also fetched $450,000, $300,000, $275,000, etc. with an average of nearly $145,000 for this year’s 2-year-olds. Mo Town stands for $7,500 in 2022.
