$650,000 for American Pharoah Colt
Yearlings from the second Australian crop of Triple Crown winner American Pharoah were in keen demand at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale on Tuesday with his best result a $650,000 colt from imported mare Carrignavar (USA).
Consigned by Coolmore, he is the second foal of the stakes-placed daughter of Tale of the Cat, who comes from a European Black Type family featuring champions Park Appeal, Cape Cross, Alydaress and Shadayid.
The athletic bay was bought by Chris Waller Racing / Mulcaster Bloodstock so will be trained by Waller, who prepares the first Australian winner for American Pharoah in talented colt Head of State.
American Pharoah also had good results with a filly from Tulip fetching $360,000 when bought by G Waterhouse / A Bott / Kestrel Thoroughbreds and a colt from Piccadillies selling for $320,000 to D Raphael / G Ryan & S Alexiou.
