$700,000 Filly For Pharoah at Keeneland September

A day after siring the opening session topper at Keeneland September, American Pharoah added another high priced yearling to his resume when Steven W. Young paid $700,000 for a filly in the second session.

Offered by Gainesway, the filly out of Grade III winner Delightful Joy is already a half-sister from one to race out of her young dam. That dam is also a half-sister to Grade III winner Cali Star and stakes winner Seymourdini.

A granddaughter of Grade III winner Graeme Six, among others in the filly’s family are stakes winners Ruby Hill and Ruby Friday.

American Pharoah’s big results came in the two days following the stallion recording another stakes winner in Skygaze on Sunday. That filly was the stallion’s second stakes winner of September.
