American Pharoah Half-Brother to Jackie’s Warrior Brings $600,000

A late addition to the Keeneland November Breeding Stock sale, an American Pharoah half-brother to dual-Grade I winner Jackie’s Warrior tied as the most expensive weanling of the session when bringing $600,000.

Purchased by M.V. Magnier from Beau Lane Bloodstock, the J&J Stables LLC and Carlos Vaccarezza-bred colt tied a Justify weanling as the most expensive of the day. In addition to Jackie’s Warrior, the bay is a half-brother to the winning King Theo.

Their dam Unicorn Girl is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Bernie The Maestro and the stakes-placed duo of Richard The Great and Awesome Mass. The colt's family also includes Canadian champion Honky Tonk Tune.

It has been a strong weekend for American Pharoah with three winners including stakes winner Merneith with his Grade I winner Harvey’s Lil Goil also finishing a close third in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf on Saturday.
