Another Impressive Winner For American Pharoah
It was another impressive winner for leading freshman sire American Pharoah on Sunday at Belmont Park when promising Linda Rice trainee Prince of Pharoahs (2c American Pharoah x My Dixie Doodle, by Dixie Union) broke his maiden by five lengths.
Going straight to the lead in the one-mile affair on dirt, Prince Of Pharoahs bested Jack Of Clubs in a duel down the backstretch and continued rolling as his rival tired in the stretch. The colt had more than enough left to pull away from the field by five lengths for owners Darlene Bilinksi and Harry Patten.
The New York-bred son of Triple Crown winning American Pharoah was co-bred by co-owner Harry Patten and Dr. Jerry Bilinsky and is out of the winning mare My Dixie Doodle. The second winner from as many runners out of his dam, the colt hails from the family of three-time Grade 1 winner Affirmed Success.
Prince Of Pharoahs is the 15th winner for his Triple Crown winning sire, who is the leading freshman and 2-year-old sire by number of winners and stakes winners.
