Kangaroo Valley Becomes The Latest Winner By Australia

Australia Colt Not For Catching In Tipperary Maiden

Kangaroo Valley (3c Australia - Dundalk Dust, by Military) ran out an impressive eight length winner of the mile and a half maiden at Tipperary on Sunday.

Ridden to lead by Donnacha O’Brien, the Aidan O’Brien-trained colt extended his advantage from three furlongs out and was pushed along from the two furlong marker. Staying on well, he left runners-up honours to Yonkers, who finished another eight lengths clear of the third horse. Donnacha O’Brien commented after the race, “He gave me a nice feel today and he did it well.”

Bred by China Horse Club International, Kangaroo Valley comes from the first crop of Australia and was bought by MV Magnier for €200,000 at the Goffs Orby Yearling Sale. He is out of the Grade 2 winner Dundalk Dust, whose two-year-old colt by American Pharoah sold for $500,000 at Ocala in April.

Australia commands €35,000 at Coolmore Stud this season.
