Black-Type Son Of Yeats Impresses Over Hurdles

Black-type bumper winner Master Debonair (5g Yeats- Swincombe Flame, by Exit To Nowhere) transferred his talent to hurdling on Friday, when running out an impressive winner of the “Introductory” Hurdle at Ascot.

A winner on debut as a four-year-old, he went on to win the Listed bumper at Cheltenham and made a promising start to his hurdle career last month, when finishing second at Cheltenham. Sent off favourite on Friday, he was ridden to make all by Robbie Power, who asked him to improve from two out and stayed on well on the run-in to win by seven lengths.

Trained by Colin Tizzard for the Gosden Mob and Sprayclad UK, Master Debonair was bred by MC and Mrs Yeo. The son of Yeats is the first foal out of his dam, herself a Listed bumper winner and Grade 1 placed over hurdles. Her Milan colt foal sold for €54,000 to Stroud Coleman Bloodstock at Tattersalls Ireland earlier this month.
