The Yeats Mare Dolly Dancer Wins At Tipperary

Daughter Of Yeats Dances To Maiden Success

Dolly Dancer (5m Yeats - Scrapper Jack, by Whitmore’s Conn) ran out an impressive winner of the two and a half mile Mares Maiden Hurdle at Tipperary on Thursday evening.

Second on her hurdle debut last month, the Emmett Mullins-trained mare has never finished out of the first four in all her starts, the others coming in bumpers. It was therefore no surprise to see her sent off favourite under Brian Hayes and he was keen to ease market concerns, taking the lead from the second flight. Extending her advantage with five left to jump, she ran on again from the second last and scored by 12 lengths on the line.

Owned by the Edinburgh Woollen Mill Ltd., Dolly Dancer was bred by Brian Kiely out of a winning half-sister to multiple Grade 2 winner Fair Along.
