First Crop Son Of Idaho Fetches Six-Figures At Cheltenham

Ellen Doyle’s success with the Idaho’s first crop continued at Thursday’s Tattersalls Cheltenham Sale, where her promising charge Quantum Quest (4g Idaho – Blackwater Mist, by Scorpion) sold to Mike Silver for £120,000.

The Baltimore House Stables-consigned bay caught the eye at Borris House earlier this month, when finishing third to the favourite Shuffle The Deck (Walk In The Park) in the four-year-old maiden. Two lengths and three quarters separated the first three horses, with the winning time recorded as 13 seconds faster than the average on the day.

Doyle provided Beeches Stud sire Idaho with his first winner when training Idaho Valley (Idaho) to beat a short-priced favourite on debut at Tallow last month.
