Four-Year-Old Maiden Winner From First Crop Of Idaho
Beeches Stud sire Idaho celebrated a smart first crop winner on Sunday when Idaho Valley (4g Idaho – Katies Fashion, by Saddlers’ Hall) made a winning debut at Tallow.
Brian Dunleavy partnered Mary Doyle’s newcomer in the four-year-old maiden and rode the bay prominently throughout. Asserting before the second last, he was briefly headed on the run-in but battled back to lead by a short head on the line. The first two home finished 21 lengths clear of the remainder.
Idaho Valley was bred by Willie McCarthy out of Katies Fashion, who has a yearling filly by Mogul. Idaho’s first crop proved popular at last year’s store sales and sold to the likes of Kevin Ross, Grange Stables, Harley Dunne, Monbeg Stables, and Charlie and Francesca Poste.
