First foal arrives for Golden Pal
The first foal by brilliant sprinter Golden Pal (Uncle Mo) was born early this morning when Multi Strategy (Scat Daddy) produced a bay colt at Keith & Ginger Myers’ Coteau Grove Farms in Louisiana.
“This is a strong colt with great bone and muscle,” said Coteau Grove Broodmare Manager Jacob Cyprian. “He has a beautiful head with quality. We sold his half-brother for good money so hopefully this colt will do the same.”
Described by Wesley Ward as “the fastest horse he has ever trained,” Golden Pal was virtually unbeatable on home soil winning seven Graded Stakes over 5 and 5½ furlongs including twice at the Breeders’ Cup and two renewals of the G2 Shakerton Stakes. One of the best sons of fellow Coolmore America sire Uncle Mo, he is out of one of the fastest turf sprinting females ever, the Midshipman mare Lady Shipman.
