Longhouse Poet (Yeats) Wins On Debut At Boulta

Impressive Point Debut By Son Of Yeats

The Sam Curling-trained Longhouse Poet (5g Yeats - Moscow Madame, by Moscow Society) made a taking debut when winning the five-year-old geldings maiden at Boulta on Sunday.

With Derek O’Connor taking the ride, there was strong market support for the John Duggan homebred. Ridden to track the leader, O’Connor asked his obliging mount to assert at the third last, the pair drawing away from the 14 horse field, to score by a comfortable four lengths on the line.

A half-brother to three winners, Longhouse Poet was bred out of a half-sister to Grade 2 winner and Grade 1 runner-up Well Presented.
