Maximum Security Sends Seven Through the Ring at OBS June

Already the sire of two winners, champion Maximum Security is off to a fast start on the track and this week, buyers have seven chances to buy runners from his first crop at the OBS June 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale.

The first chance comes early in the sale with Hip 28 from Silvestre Chavez Thoroughbreds, a filly out of Patsy’s Kim.

The mare was unraced herself, but has proven to have talent as a broodmare with two winners and one placer from five to race.

Bred in Kentucky by Fox Run Homestead, Billy Crouse, and Travis Price, the juvenile is a half-sister to the stakes-placed Irish Patsy and a granddaughter of the multiple graded stakes winning Romy. Romy also produced stakes winner My Ro, who is a three-quarter sister to Patsy’s Kim. This filly’s first three dams have all produced at least one stakes winner with multiple daughters and granddaughters also producing stakes horses.

McKathan Bros is the consignor of Hip 285, a half-sister to the Grade II winner and Grade I-placed Midnight Memories from two to race out of Grade II winner and Grade I-placed Tiz Midnight.

Bred by the trio of Michael Pegram, Paul Weitman, and Karl Watson, this filly has a page full of blacktype as a granddaughter of dual Grade I winner Tough Tiz’s Sis. That successful racemare has passed on producing genes with her daughters also producing Grade III winner Rocket Can and Grade III-placed American Blaze to join Tiz Midnight as stakes performers who share a granddam.

Tough Tiz’s Sis isn’t the only stakes winner for her dam as a half-sister to the stakes winning Golly Greeley and to stakes placed Leaseholders Dream.

Tiz Midnight returned to the Ashford breeding shed last year, foaling a filly from Champion 2-Year-Old Colt Corniche’s first crop on February 13.

A half-sister to the Grade I winner Comma To The Top is the dam of Hip 875, offered by Flying Fish.

A three-time winner as one of seven winners out of Maggies Storm, Maggie Simon hasn’t slacked on producing her own winners with the four from her six to race including six-time winner Areyouinaband and five-time winner Maggie True. Maggie Simon is also a half-sister to the stakes winning Vending Machine, who placed in a Grade III as well.

The stakes performers keep coming down the page with Maggies Storm out of the Grade II winner Maggies Pistol, who also produced seven winners – including the stakes winner Yes He’s a Pistol and stakes placed Dumaani Of Course.

Maximum Security is one of only six freshmen this year with more than one winner and has seen his winners come on both the dirt and turf in multiple countries.
