Mo Town Close Up

Mo Town Juveniles Set For OBS June

Twelve Mo Town juveniles round out his offerings at the last major 2-year-old sale of the year when they go through the ring at this week’s OBS June 2-Year-Olds Sale.

Already the sire of a winner and multiple placers from only five starters, Grade I winner Mo Town’s top priced 2-year-old brought more than $545,000 during this year’s sales with nine of the stallion’s juveniles bringing six figures.

Mo Town’s fastest breezer at last week’s Under Tack Show was a colt out of Dixie Babe, who stopped the clock in :10.0. Offered as Hip 811 by Randy Miles, he is out of the winning Dixie Union mare Dixie Babe. That mare is a daughter of the multiple stakes winning Bluegrass Sara, who is also the granddam of the stakes placed Carradine. Bred by Hubert Vester, the colt is making his second trip through the sales ring after selling at last year’s Fasig-Tipton October Sale.

Hip 627 offered by New Way is a half-sister to one winner from one to race out of the Harlan’s Holiday mare Annie’s Law. Annie’s Law is a full sister to the Grade I winner and sire Majesticperfection and is a half-sister to 15-time winner Our Noble Heart. Also on this page is course record holder and stakes winner Cold Water.

Gambling Geraldine has already found success on the track as a producer with her first foal to race a debut winner and this colt looks to bring her success in the sales ring as Hip 904. Bred by George E. Bates Trustee and purchased as a yearling by his 2-year-old consigner New Horizon Farm, this colt has six stakes winners listed on his page. That group includes his dam’s multiple stakes winning brother, who was third in two Grade Is and another half-sibling in Diablo’s Closer, who produced her own stakes winner.

From the family of Uncle Mo’s stakes winning Audrey’s Time hails Hip 800 from Paul Sharp. The filly is a granddaughter of the Grade III-placed Heavenly Pride with plenty of stakes action under her third dam. In addition to Audrey’s Time – who continues to add blacktype to the family this year, the page includes multiple stakes winner Hot Storm, Grade I-placed Silverpocketsfull, and Audrey’s Time’s own stakes winning and multiple Grade II-placed dam Unforgotten.

Black type updates are always a welcome update but even more so when they come close to a sale and that’s just what happened for Woodside Ranch’s Hip 814.

The filly is a half-sister to two winners from four to race and her dam is a half-sister to two graded stakes winners and one other stakes performer. That stakes performer is Considerate, the dam of Sanctuary City who most recently finished second in last Monday’s Kingston Stakes. That is his second stakes placing of the year and fourth stakes placing overall.

The OBS June Sale runs from June 7 to 9 with the sessions taking place at 10:00 a.m. ET each day. Mo Town’s first through the ring is Hip 31 and his final is Hip 997.
