Pretty Amazing (American Pharoah) winning at Canterbury

Pretty Amazing Another Graded Stakes Winner for Pharoah

After scoring two graded stakes winners last weekend, American Pharoah started this weekend on the same note when Pretty Amazing (3f American Pharoah x Pretty Penny, by Encosta de Lago) won the Group III Kembla Grange Classic in Australia.

It was an impressive victory for the Group I ATC Australian Oaks-bound runner with Pretty Amazing racing from the back of the field to win by a length in the end.

“She is probably going to get over a bit further than this. She is a real Oaks type of filly, so this is distance is getting her nicely prepared,” trainer Chris Waller’s representative Jack Pilkington said. “She relaxes beautifully, moves beautifully and lets down really well. “She is putting it altogether nicely now and building into what could be a good autumn for her. “She is docile, so relaxed about everything. The more she has grown in confidence, the more she has relaxed.”

Owned by Clairden Racing, Pretty Amazing has won her last three starts with her only non-win coming in her debut.

Pretty Amazing is the fifth group winner for the Group III-placed Pretty Penny, who is also the dam of Group II winners Sertorius and Pretty Brazen and Group III winners Dollar For Dollar and Clifton Red.

In all, Pretty Penny has produced eight stakes performers from eight runners with one of her daughters also producing Group III-placed Spoils.

Pretty Penny also has a 2-year-old American Pharoah filly named Pretty Awesome and gave birth to a colt by American Pharoah’s Australian studmate Yes Yes Yes on Christmas eve as her final foal.

Triple Crown winner and top sire American Pharoah is the sire of 25 stakes winners and 14 graded stakes winners worldwide with 43 stakes performers from his three crops aged three or older.
