Yeats Going To Shed

Progressive Son Of Yeats Records Second Hurdle Success

Our Colossus (6g Yeats - Itsalark, by Definite Article) produced a strong finish to justify favouritism in Wednesday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Worcester.

Successful on his second start over hurdles last month, the Fergal O’Brien-trained bay finished second next time out and dropped back to two miles at Worcester. Tracking the leaders for much of the way under Liam Harrison, he led from two out and kept on strongly from the final flight to win by three and a quarter lengths.

Our Colossus showed promise on his first career start, when finishing second in a five-year-old maiden at Tattersalls for Peter Flood. Now owned by Ray Tracy and Shaun Staplehurst, the own-brother to Grade 2 performer Party Central (Yeats) was bred by Frank Motherway and Kevin Curtin.
