Munnings head shot

Rising Star 2YO for Munnings

A half-sister to Champion Two and Three Year Old Sprinting Filly Lady Aurelia, exciting prospect Lady Pauline (2f Munnings x D’Wildcat Speed, by Forest Wildcat) showed some of her big sister’s talent when blazing to a super impressive debut victory at Keeneland on Friday.

A homebred for Stonestreet Stables prepared by Wesley Ward, Lady Pauline was sent out a short priced favourite for the four and a half furlong juvenile maiden and gave her rivals a galloping lesson when bolting clear to win by nearly 10 lengths.

Stonestreet paid $1 million for her dam at the 2005 Keeneland November sale, and Barbara Banke’s operation bought back globe-trotting Lady Aurelia for $7.5 million at last year’s Fasig-Tipton November Sale, so it’s a highly prized family with Lady Pauline poised to bring further success.

She is the fifth winner from Grade II winner D’Wildcat Speed.

"She was always on the list as a keeper," Barbara Banke said of Lady Pauline. "We're so glad to have another filly from the fabulous D'Wildcat Speed."

Lady Pauline earned TDN Rising Star status for her victory and looms as a future stakes horse for Munnings, who is already the sire of 30 stakes-winners and is priced at $20,000 in 2019.
