Secret Combination Debut Winner for Maximum Security
It was a British winner for Maximum Security on Thursday when Secret Combination (2f Maximum Security x Stormalina, by Stormy Atlantic) broke her maiden on debut.
Racing on Chelmsford’s synthetic track going seven furlongs, Secret Combination was kept in the rear of the field by Saffie Osborne for about the first five furlongs of the race. When they hit a quarter to run, Osborne provided her mount with clear room and they were off.
Taking over command inside the final sixteenth, the Kentucky-bred raced to a one length win in the end.
Trained by Jamie Osborne for Jim and Claire Limited, the Kathie Maybee-bred filly is out of the winning Stormy Atlantic mare Stormalina.
Stormaline is out of multiple stakes winner Alina, who produced Grade III winner and multiple Grade I-placed Nemoralia among her seven winners. Nemoralia’s 2-year-old May Day ready won this year’s Grade II Jessamine S. and was second in the Grade I Breeders’ Cup Fillies Turf.
This is the 13th worldwide winner for Maximum Security, who has seen his winners come in seven different countries this year.
