Shattered Love (Yeats) Wins The Listed Mares Chase At Clonmel For A Second Time

Shattered Love Lands Back To Back Listed Chases

Thursday saw Shattered Love (9m Yeats - Tracker, by Bustino) land back-to-back runnings of the Listed TA Morris Memorial Mares Chase for Gordon Elliott and Gigginstown House Stud.

Sent off favourite under Mark Walsh, the bay tracked the leader for much of the two and a half mile contest and made headway to lead approaching the second last. She had a clear advantage by the final fence and was eased close home to win by ten lengths.

Thursday marked a 12th career success for the daughter of Yeats, who has twice scored at Grade 1 level. Bred by Limetree Stud, she is a half-sister to ill-fated Grade 2 winner Irish Cavalier.

The following day at Fairyhouse, another daughter of Yeats confirmed her promise when taking the two mile maiden hurdle.

Successful between the flags and in a bumper, Tucanae (5m Yeats - Nova Cyngi, by Kris S) finished second on her last two starts over hurdles and was well-supported facing the opposite sex. Bryan Cooper rode Paul Nolan’s charge to track the leaders, asserting from two out and kept on well on the run-in to score by three and a quarter lengths.

Owned by Albert Dravins and Eamon Scanlon, the half-sister to Dodging Bullets was bred by Eclipse Bloodstock and Gary Hadden.
