Sioux Nation Colt Draws Clear To Maiden Success

The promising Spartan Arrow (3c Sioux Nation - Thames Pageant, by Dansili) impressed on his seasonal return in Tuesday’s maiden at Brighton.

Simon and Ed Crisford’s charge was last seen finishing a close second in September and was sent off favourite to go one better over an extended five furlongs. Racing in touch under Luke Morris, he was pushed along to make headway from two furlongs out and led a furlong from home. Ridden inside the final furlong, he drew clear to win by four and a quarter lengths.

Spartan Arrow first showcased his talent at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale, where Mocklershill sold him to Stroud Coleman Bloodstock for 380,000gns. Bred by Pier House Stud, the first crop son of Sioux Nation is owned by KHK Racing.
