Native American (Sioux Nation) Impresses On Debut at York

Sioux Nation Colt Proves A Cut Above At York

Native American (2c Sioux Nation - Pencarrow, by Green Desert) emerged as an exciting prospect when drawing clear to win Saturday’s six furlong novice stakes at York.

The Richard Fahey-trained newcomer stumbled coming out of stalls but quickly recovered to race in midfield under Oisin Orr. Pushed along approaching the two furlong marker, he was ridden briefly a furlong later and soon strode clear to win by five and a half lengths.

Bred by Patricia Casement and Dr Dean Harron, Native American is owned by M & M Racing, Paul Byrne and partner.
