Son Of Getaway Knocked Down To Knight For €210,000

A son of Getaway rewarded brave pinhookers when selling to Henrietta Knight for €210,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale.

Bought by Summerhill as a foal for €95,000, the first foal out of Dreambaby (Yeats) was offered by Norman Williamson’s Oak Tree Farm on Thursday. After securing the bay on behalf of Mike Grech, Knight said, “He is another gorgeous horse and I am a big fan of Getaway. He has been beautifully prepared and come from a wonderful female line.”

The impressive price bodes well for Dreambaby’s two-year-old and yearling fillies by Walk In The Park.

Paul Nicholls has enjoyed success with Getaway, with the likes of Grade 1 hurdler Getaway Trump (Getaway), and is hoping to repeat the feat with his latest recruit. Working with Tom Malone, Nicholls gave €92,000 for Rathturtin Stud’s Getaway gelding from the family of Balitou.

Others who secured progeny of the Grange Stud sire included Fergal O’Brien, Rob James, Timmy O’Byrne, Frank Berry, Ian Ferguson and Enda Bolger.
