Son Of Getaway Makes All To Win Maiden Hurdle

Sunday saw the Nigel Twiston-Davies trained One True King (5g Getaway - Final Leave, by Glacial Storm) make all to win the maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter in comfortable fashion.

An impressive bumper winner in January, the son of Getaway was sent off favourite for the two mile contest under Sam Twiston-Davies. Ridden approaching the final flight, the chesnut kept on well to win by three and three quarter lengths, as Brief Ambition (Yeats) kept on for second.

Owned by Teme Valley, One True King gained his first career win between the flags for Cormac Doyle. A €40,000 store purchase, he was bred by Joe Fogarty out of a half-sister to black-type hurdler Mary’s Manna.
