Son Of Mahler Impresses With Back-To-Back Wins
Ajp Kingdom (6g Mahler - Mattys Joy, by Beneficial) made easy work of a seven pound penalty to run out a wide margin winner of Saturday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Worcester.
Fergal O’Brien’s recruit won a bumper on rules debut earlier this season and went on the finish second on his first two starts over hurdles. The bay got off the mark last time out and was sent off favourite when stepping up to two miles and seven furlongs at Worcester. Ridden to make all by Connor Brace, he boasted a clear advantage from the second last and needed little encouragement to win by 16 lengths from a strung-out field.
The son of Beeches Stud sire Mahler was bred by John Palmer.
