Son Of Walk In The Park Draws Clear In Listed Feature
Giovinco (6g Walk In The Park - Whyalla, by Bandari) extended his unbeaten record under rules when running out an impressive winner of the Listed Novices’ Hurdle at Perth on Wednesday.
The son of Walk In The Park was bought by Lucinda Russell after winning a Dromahane maiden for Michael Griffin and rewarded new connections with impressive back-to-back wins last month. Stepping up to three miles on his latest start, he was full of running with three to jump and improved to dispute at the second last. Asserting soon after, he drew clear approaching the final flight and kept on to score by 12 lengths under Stephen Mulqueen.
Another step up in class may now be on the cards for Giovinco, who was bred by Colm Griffin out of his homebred mare Whyalla.
