Master Debonair (Yeats) Wins The Gr.2 Supreme Trial at Ascot

Son Of Yeats Defies Penalty To Win Supreme Trial

Master Debonair (5g Yeats - Swincombe Flame, by Exit To Nowhere) joined an illustrious honour roll when landing the Grade 2 Supreme Trial Novices’ Hurdle at Ascot.

The Colin Tizzard-trained horse made all, as he had when winning impressively over course and distance last month. Robbie Power asked him to quicken after the second last and he ran on well to score by eight lengths, as the favourite Ribble Valley (Westerner) finished second.

An impressed Robbie Power commented after the race, “We went a reasonable pace in the testing ground and he's relentless. He'll definitely be going to Cheltenham in March and if it's soft ground again it will be happy days.”

Twice a bumper winner last season, Master Debonair was gaining his fourth success overall for owners The Gosden Mob and Sprayclad UK. The son of Yeats was bred by MC and Mrs Yeo out of the useful Swincombe Flame, whose Milan colt foal sold for €54,000 last month. Swincombe Flame is in foal to Order Of St. George.
