Whiskeywealth (Yeats) Wins The Rated Novice Chase At Tramore

Son Of Yeats Draws Clear In Rated Novice Chase

Whiskeywealth (7g Yeats - Quiet Thought, by Bob Back) ran out an impressive winner of the Rated Novice Chase at Tramore on New Year’s Day.

The Eoghan O’Grady-trained bay was sent off favourite for the two mile chase on heavy ground, having previously places over fences on three occasions. He made most of the running under Mike O’Connor and was travelling strongly when easing clear approaching the last. Drawing further clear on the run-in, he led by 15 lengths on the line.

Owned by Eamon Hickey and Ger Finn Partnership, Whiskeywealth got off the mark in a maiden hurdle last season. The son of Yeats was bred by Ms C Corrigan and Tom Conway, and is a half-brother to black-type performer Fortuna Ligna (Soldier Of Fortune).
