Figuero (Yeats) Wins The Grade 3 Prix Heros XII At Auteuil

Son Of Yeats Records Fifth Black Type Success

Saturday saw Figuero (7g Yeats - Annaland, by Saint Des Saints) gain a well-deserved return to winning ways in the Grade 3 Prix Heros XII at Auteuil.

Francois Nicolle’s consistent charge came into the race with four course and distance wins to his name, all of them black-type, including at Grade 1 level. Partnered by regular rider Angelo Zuliani, the Jacques Detre-owned bay raced close to the pace and led from four out. Quickening on the turn for home, he kept on well to win by a length and a quarter, with a further 11 lengths back to another Grade 1 winner in third.

Now an eight-time winner, Figuero has earned over €750,000 in prize money for connections. The son of Yeats was bred by Thierry Cypres out of Annaland, who has a yearling full-sister to the talented chaser.
