Son Of Yeats Scores On Return
Sunday saw the JP McManus-owned Kilfenora (7g Yeats - Blazing Liss, by Supreme Leader) land a valuable prize when taking the Grade B Brown Lad Hurdle at Naas.
The bay was making his seasonal return and was last seen finishing third in a similar contest at the Punchestown Festival. Soon settled behind the leader by Mark Walsh, he led turning for home and was ridden out on the run-in to beat the favourite Rock De Baune by a length and three quarters.
Trainer Eddie Harty later revealed a Pertemps qualifier as the most likely target for Kilfenora, who is now a three-time winner over hurdles. Bred by Niall Flynn, the son of Yeats is out of dual Listed winner and Grade 1 performer Blazing Liss.
