Boher Cailin (Mahler) Wins The Mares Maiden Hurdle At Clonmel

Unbeaten Mare Continues Fine Run For Mahler

Point-to-point winner Boher Cailin (4f Mahler - Eudemis, by Martaline) continued a fine time for Beeches Stud sire Mahler when winning the Mares’ Maiden Hurdle at Clonmel on Thursday.

Martin Keating’s homebred ran out a three length winner on debut in Turtulla in March and was sent off second favourite on her first start under rules for Henry De Bromhead. Rachael Blackmore rode the chesnut to lead, increasing the pace from five out and was travelling well approaching the second last. Clear before the final flight, she kept on well to win by three lengths.

Boher Cailin is the first foal out of black-type performer Eudemis, who comes from the family of Astarabad and Azamour. She continues a fine run for her sire Mahler, with Twominutes Turkish having made an impressive hurdle debut on Wednesday, while Irish point-to-point winner Wild Polly scored on her seasonal return earlier this week.
