Walk In Clover (Walk In The Park) Wins The Grade 2 Mares’ Novices’ Chase At Cheltenham

Walk In The Park Mare Captures Grade 2 Chase

Walk In Clover (6m Walk In The Park - Bridgequarter Girl, by Presenting) appeared to relish the Cheltenham hill when gaining her first black-type success in the Grade 2 Mares’ Novices’ Chase on Thursday.

An impressive winner over hurdles last season, the Dan Skelton-trained mare came into Thursday’s contest with four placings over fences and was given a patient ride by Tristan Durrell. Making good headway from three out, she was ridden to lead approaching the final fence and kept on strongly on the run-in to win by three lengths.

Dan Skelton later noted a truly-run race being the key to Walk In Clover, who is owned by The Blind Squirrels. The progressive daughter of Walk In The Park was bred by Kevin Neville out of a half-sister to the talented Shannon Bridge (Flemensfirth).
