Yeats Mare Bolts Up On Seasonal Return

Just Jess (5m Yeats - She’s On The Case, by Witness Box) produced an impressive performance on her return to action in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Hexham.

Dropping back to two miles on her first start since March, the Sue Smith-trained bay chased the leaders under Ryan Mania and was travelling well when leading before the last. Soon clear, she kept on well to beat a previous hurdle winner by 11 lengths.

Owned by Widdop Wanderers, Just Jess was bred by Parkville Stud and is a full-sister to four-time winner Butler’s Brief (Yeats).
