800,000gns High Chaparral 2yo score by 7 lengths on debut

Moheet (High Chaparral) winning at Salisbury

Moheet (2c High Chaparral-Abunai, by Pivotal) looks a colt with a serious future after posting an amazing seven-length debut victory in a competitive Salisbury maiden on Wednesday.

Trained by Richard Hannon for Al Shaqab Racing, the High Chaparral colt was stealing the limelight for a second time this year having sold for 800,000gns at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale in April.

Connections see Moheet as an exciting three-year-old prospect but he could bid to go into the winter with a Group success to his name.

“We like Moheet a lot but he is a horse for next year,” Richard Hannon senior told the Racing Post. “He might have one more run this time in the G3 Autumn Stakes at Newmarket later this month.”

Bred by Hascombe & Valiant Studs, Moheet is out of a half-sister to G1 E P Taylor Stakes winner Miss Keller and from the family of Inchinor.
