The Aidan O’Brien-trained Peace Envoy (2c Power-Hoh My Darling, by Dansili) brought a first-crop black-type victory for Power at Naas on Sunday when taking the Listed Coolmore War Command Rochestown Stakes.
A five-furlong winner on his debut, the speedy colt took the step up to six furlongs in his stride and looks set to try to give Power a first-crop Royal Ascot success.
“He’s still very green. He never went in front before and will learn a lot from today. He’ll probably go to Royal Ascot and could run over five or six furlongs as he’s not short of pace,” said O’Brien.
Peace Envoy was bred in France by the Sundstrom family’s Team Hogdala and realised €125,000 as a yearling at Arqana.
Meanwhile, Power had another debutant winner in Rome on Sunday when La Force (2f Power-La Miraculeuse, by Samum) took a seven-furlong newcomers’ event. The filly was bred in Germany by Gestut Karlshof.
