Rip Van Winkle colt Almorox (2c Rip Van Winkle-Totem, by Mizzen Mast) made a sparkling winning debut in France on Tuesday for trainer Christophe Ferland.
The colt, bred by T de la Heronnière coasted to a length victory in the mile contest under jockey Julien Augé.
Ferland told Equidia: “The horse has always given me a very good impression but he’s still immature and needs to gain more experience. He will come on 300 per cent for this race and it was not easy for him coming from the rear. He is a horse that could go for the Grand Critérium de Bordeaux in the future.”
