Thewayyouwish (3c Thewayyouare-Faby Douglas, by Danetime), a G2 runner-up on his previous run, landed the Listed Grand Prix de Marseille at Cagnes-sur-Mer on Saturday.
The son of Thewayyourare finished second in the G2 Prix Hocquart at Deauville on his last start and he duly obliged in this 1m 3f Listed event when sent off favourite.
Trained by Jean-Claude Rouget for Claudio Marzocco, the progressive three-year-old was bred in Ireland by Liam Ormsby.
“I was worried that he was going to come second but he got up in the last stride,” Rouget told JDG. “He came here a fresh horse and we’d kept him for this race. He’s a horse that I like so I’m very pleased with this win. He’ll be offered at the Arc Sale and we’ll see if he makes a good price. If not, we’ll keep him in training as a four-year-old.”
