Djumama (3f Aussie Rules-Western Sky, by Barathea) brought black-type success for Aussie Rules when winning the Listed Diana-Trial at Dusseldorf in Germany on Sunday.
The G3-winning juvenile, who also scored in G3 company earlier this year, ran on well to take this 11-furlong event by half a length under jockey Andreas Helfenbein. Djumama was bred by Colin Kennedy and sold for 22,000gns at the 2009 Tattersalls December Yearling Sale.
Aussie Rules was also on the mark at Newmarket on Friday night when Dinkum Diamond (3c Aussie Rules-Moving Diamonds, by Lomitas) easily won a five-furlong conditions event and will now be aimed at York’s G1 Nunthorpe Stakes
“Amour Propre is back in business and I have the G2 King George Stakes at Goodwood on the agenda for him and we better look at the G1 Nunthorpe,” trainer Henry Candy told the Racing Post.
