Versatile Champs Elysees was responsible for a high-class juvenile winner on Saturday when Billesdon Brook (2f Champs Elysees-Coplow, by Manduro) won the G3 Prestige Stakes at Goodwood for trainer Richard Hannon.
It was a third career success for the classy filly, who held off nine rivals to claim the seven-furlong contest on Saturday.
Hannon is now planning a step up in the grade for Billesdon Brook.
“I was very impressed. The fact she quickened past horses that were already quickening at the time was impressive,” said Hannon. “Sean (Levey) gave her a lovely ride and kept filling her up.
“The G2 May Hill Stakes is a possibility. Unfortunately the G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes had closed before she won a race, which is typical. I am sure there is something in the pipeline she will take a lot of beating in.”
